Does your Novel have too many characters? This can be difficult. Writing my memoir my characters are real. When writing my novel this was very different.

There are no set rules to how many  characters you have.

BUT…How many do you  have that  are briefly mentioned? Then forgotten?

How many are loose ends?  If you  have those remove them, they are not necessary.

Every character needs to  bring something to the story.  Too many can confuse the reader.  Decide how many characters can tell the story.   Your main characters drive the story.

Protagonist – Antagonist and your minor characters.

Remember your characters do not exist by name alone.  They  must  be fixed in the readers mind.   A name, their appearance, any special emotions.

How many characters do you  have?

Are there any characters now not needed?

The writing of my  memoirs is totally different.  The people are real.  They do  exist. The events actually  happened.

Writing my novel.  Is a while down the line .. Still working on that.

Have a great  day,

Happy  writing
